Action To The Word theatre company was formed in 2006 to create exciting and eclectic classical theatre for a wide audience. Primarily, though not exclusively, the company present the works of William Shakespeare.
Led by company director Alexandra Spencer-Jones, they have recently completed their sell-out retelling of The Merchant of Venice at Camden People's Theatre, their ground-breaking all-male A Clockwork Orange at Proud Galleries and their site-specific Romeo & Juliet which launched London's Abbeyfest.
In 2008 the troupe was heralded at the Edinburgh Festival for their award-winning production of Titus Andronicus which ran side-by-side with their devised piece Shakespeare Shorts or What's in a Name?
